8.11 Showing and Hiding Windows

Sawfish provides two low-level functions for (un)withdrawing client windows from the display. These are used to implement both workspaces (see Workspaces) and iconification (see Iconifying Windows).

Function: hide-window window

Prevent object window from being displayed.

This function is low-level and mainly for internal use. You should probably use iconify-window. (see Iconifying Windows)

Function: show-window window

Ensure that window is visible, (provided that it has been mapped, and is within the screen boundary).

This function is low-level and mainly for internal use. For interactive use, you should probably use display-window. (see Activating Window)

Function: window-visible-p window

Returns t if object window has not been hidden by the hide-window function.
